  • Collecting information – focus: the individual, the team, the unit, other
  • Understanding information - statistical issues (e.g. risk stratification and "league tables") and agreeing outcome measures.

  • Monitoring performance in the light of information
  • Closing the audit loop – how can information point to safety and quality?
